Individual coaching will focus on relationship-building, decision-making, and time management.
Three comprehensive BLOC workshops will engage at least 30 attendees each.
Building the Leadership and Organizing Capacity, 2025
Chicks Ahoy Farm directors and community organizers will facilitate bi-weekly organizer training, individual coaching for field organizers, and group training with peers over the Summer. The BLOC project will be structured yet open to the public. Monthly notifications and training reminders will be sent to field individuals, informing them of the training calendar, availability for individual coaching, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities.

Chicks Ahoy Farm’s President, Lorenzo Jones, will be the primary staff member for BLOC, with Agriculture Director Diana Martinez assisting with sessions and providing coaching to program management and organizing staff. Community organizers and farmers will contribute mentorship and support for youth and entry-level organizers, community leaders, and activists in Connecticut.
This 90-minute hybrid training session is held bi-weekly, designed for intergenerational groups to learn foundational Community Organizing 101 skills through practical exercises.
