Different towns/cities have different names or acronyms for offices that do similar things. Use the website's search option to look for keywords like "sustainability" or "zoning" if you're not sure what the exact names of the committees or offices are. Chicks Ahoy Farm Chicks Ahoy Farm is excited to announce the dates for group Building Leadership & Organizing Capacity (BLOC) training. Last year, we taught more than 100 people how to build community organizing skills and use their leadership to build collective power. If you missed it last year, could use a refresher, or want to learn and practice alongside others organizing across the state, register to attend. BLOC Session Goals: • Learn Six Rules for effective community organizing • Learn to hold effective one-on-one meetings • Debrief and share takeaways together through shared experiences This four-hour session will include snacks, training materials, lunch and childcare. You will meet people doing this work who are new to organizing and people with years of experience at building community power. Don't concern yourself with the issue you are working on, we are going to talk about the baseline tools and tips for any community-led group building power for system change.  This first session is just over a month away on Saturday, June 28th. Please register so we are able to plan accordingly. BLOC training is free of charge and open to the public and you are invited to attend. This is a hybrid session, being offered on Zoom and in-person in Middletown (exact location will be shared soon).
