- Saturday, 9/27: Coop2Kitchen Middletown Mutual Aid Pop Upв разделе BILPOC Farming·September 26, 2025Thank you for signing up to attend our next Coop2Kitchen Pop-Up in Middletown this Saturday, September 27th at 11:30am. We'll be meeting at the Universal Healthcare Foundation offices at 425 Main Street, 2nd floor in Middletown. If you're not sure where this building is, it's located between Esca Restaurant and Fujiya Ramen on Main Street. We'll have a table set up out front, too. You can park on the street or behind the building. The entrance to the parking lot is on the Washington Street side of the building next to Wells Fargo Bank. Here's an idea of our schedule for Saturday: 11:30am- Pop-Up Begins 12pm- Sofrito Demonstration and Lunch 1pm- Policy 101 Workshop Begins! - Building Leadership & Organizing Capacity Trainingв разделе Community Organizing·May 17, 2025Chicks Ahoy Farm Chicks Ahoy Farm is excited to announce the dates for group Building Leadership & Organizing Capacity (BLOC) training. Last year, we taught more than 100 people how to build community organizing skills and use their leadership to build collective power. If you missed it last year, could use a refresher, or want to learn and practice alongside others organizing across the state, register to attend. BLOC Session Goals: • Learn Six Rules for effective community organizing • Learn to hold effective one-on-one meetings • Debrief and share takeaways together through shared experiences This four-hour session will include snacks, training materials, lunch and childcare. You will meet people doing this work who are new to organizing and people with years of experience at building community power. Don't concern yourself with the issue you are working on, we are going to talk about the baseline tools and tips for any community-led group building power for system change. This first session is just over a month away on Saturday, June 28th. Please register so we are able to plan accordingly. BLOC training is free of charge and open to the public and you are invited to attend. This is a hybrid session, being offered on Zoom and in-person in Middletown (exact location will be shared soon). This Summer, we will cover the following topics and you can register for them all at once if you want. • Rules of Organizing & One on Ones, Saturday, June 28th • Conversations & Planning Meetings, Saturday, July 26th • Research Hits & Public Meetings, Saturday August 23rd BLOC is a community leadership training designed to build your leadership skills so we all can increase the capacity for our neighbors and families to build power together. BLOC training will assist you with the practice and application of what you learn at these sessions. Different towns/cities have different names or acronyms for offices that do similar things. Use the website's search option to look for keywords like "sustainability" or "zoning" if you're not sure what the exact names of the committees or offices are. Use this form to add links for the offices inside your municipality.007
