The Path Forward for Food and Agriculture
Here is a piece shared by our Chairperson Diana Martinez. Civil Eats Editors collected a number of reactions from some influential voices in Food Justice and Labor to the incoming Administration's rhetoric.
"From the farm bill to food justice to deep coverage of how the pandemic cratered our food system, we’ve pursued complicated and often underreported stories while lifting up underrepresented voices. Throughout, we’ve highlighted solutions to daunting challenges and interviewed the people working to create change."
Some election related posts about the Presidential election's impact on the federal Food and Farm Bill.
The farm bill is the largest piece of federal legislation for food and farming. It impacts access to nutritious food for the millions of people in the United States facing hunger.

How will Trump and Harris’ diverging agendas impact food, trade, and public health? by Elaine Watson
Each fall at Harvesting Change, we gather to talk about the food and skills we want to grow in the coming year; recap and share what we grew and learned this year; and break bread together with a meal prepared with produce sourced from our farm partners.
The project areas are designed to help facilitate comprehensive community, business, and city partnerships to increase the number of BILPOC farmers; put land, including wetlands, into sustainable agriculture use by local people; and foster greater civic engagement among project members. Each project area is led by a Cultivating Justice anchor – either a business or a community group.
