To advance this mission, Chicks Ahoy LLC and Dee’s Crafty Bees have partnered with farmers, community-based organizations, and financial institutions. This collaboration aims to establish a collective dedicated to addressing priorities deemed central to community safety, education, health, and the overall quality of life experience for local residents. (Farming, Agriculture, Conservation, Environment, and Stewardship) serves as the foundational framework for our outreach initiatives, meeting agendas, and the requisitions presented to local commissions and municipalities. These efforts are dedicated to supporting residents and businesses actively pursuing engagement and opportunities within Connecticut's Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, and Hunting sector. This integration will enable us to more clearly define our objective of "increasing the number of BILPOC Farmers in Connecticut." This evolution of FLOC and the Farm Committee will enhance our efforts to implement systemic changes within municipalities, thereby removing barriers to entry into the agricultural industry. Farming Farming Stewardship Stewardship Agriculture Agriculture Farm Committee Farm Committee Conservation Conservation Farm Fund Farm Fund Environment Environment Successful systems change for us means there must be infrastructure for agriculture built across underserved neighborhoods. Many of these areas are also known to be covered by ‘drug free school zones’. These neighborhoods have residents exposed to Excessive Supervision and increased contact with law enforcement. Growing pathways to agricultural business projects is core to Chicks Ahoy Farm’s mission. We Are Growing A Farm Fund The Fund was established in 2023 by the board of directors of Chicks Ahoy Farm Inc. The Farm Fund's mission is to cultivate capital and educational resources for the increasing number of aspiring farmers encountering obstacles on their path to agricultural endeavors in Connecticut. We envision farming not merely as a collection of skills for self-reliance, but as a means of introducing people to strategies for combating climate change, participating in community-based sustainability projects, and establishing locally owned agri-enterprises.
